Support me as I stay active for 27 days to support those living with Parkinson's!

I'm asking for your help and support.

I'm taking part in the 27ForParkinson's Challenge to help raise funds for people like myself, who are living

with Parkinson's - a progressive neurological condition that affects people from all walks of life.

There are over 57,000 people in Victoria, living with Parkinson's, your donation will make a difference to so many of us.

For 27 days I will be staying active whether it be Walking, Gardening or doing Thai Chi

I have lived with Parkinsons Disease for the last 14 years, one would  think that's enough time to know all there is to know about the condition,  and yet I am surprised when a new symptom emerges demanding attention.

The most confronting symptom has been the loss of speech that hits unexpectedly, when out of the blue, there’s

silence, I can't find the words I want to say. Nothing happens, I smile, but no words come. It passes eventually but has been perturbing to say the least.

I fill my days with activities that aim to slow the progression of the disease. Activities that include Pilates, Physio, Hydrotherapy, Tai Chi Qigong and finally the daily medication regime every 2-3hours.

So I'll be focusing 27 days to staying more active, moving my body on behalf of the Parkinson's Community.

Will you help me make a difference?

Every dollar raised will make a lasting impact, so please make a donation to support my challenge.

Many thanks Yve.

Why get involved

Sunday 8th Oct

I decided to commit to this year’s fund-raising event so Fight Parkinson’s can continue their

tireless work to understand the causes of this disease and support those of us living with the disease. For me they have been a reassuring source of information and practical support. Without this support I don’t think I would be as confident in striving to be the best version of myself by tackling new things or experiences while dealing with the ups and downs of Parkinson’s. I am currently on a new travelling adventure in the Northern Territory something I wouldn’t dared to considered doing if I listened to the standard medical advice and naysayers.
