Terms & Conditions
When registering for 27forParkinson's 2023 I agree to the below terms and conditions.
1. Participant declaration
By registering in the event, I hereby declare that I am participating in this event entirely at my own risk. I acknowledge that all persons directly or indirectly involved in organising this event are not liable for any loss or damage suffered by me or others relating to my participation in the event (whether as a result of negligence or otherwise). I agree to indemnify Fight Parkinson's, the event organisers, sponsors and all officials against any and all claims arising from my participation in 27forParkinson's. I am solely responsible for personal belongings and understand and acknowledge that Fight Parkinson's and the event organisers do not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to property. I will abide by the event rules and conditions and agree that the event organisers may, at their absolute discretion, vary the event rules and conditions without prior notice. If I register on behalf of another person (excluding minors), I warrant that I do so for on behalf of that other person and with their authorisation to enter into the event terms. I agree to abide by the event rules and regulations outlined by the organisers.
2. Physical fitness
I hereby attest and verify that I am physically fit to participate in the event. I further attest and verify that I do not have any physical or intellectual impairment that may make my participation unsafe for myself or others. It is my sole responsibility to determine whether I am sufficiently healthy enough to participate in this event. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation in 27forParkinsons and will take all measures to protect myself from the risks of participation and will at all times take due and reasonable care of myself and others.
3. Parent or guardians
Participants under the age of 18 will obtain prior permission of a parent or guardian over the age of 18 to participate. When a parent or guardian registers a minor in the event, they agree and acknowledge they do so in their capacity as the legal guardian of the minor and take responsibility for the minor for fundraising and engagement in the activity.
4. Payments and Refunds
Requests for refunds of donation are to be sent to fundraising@fightparkinsons.org.au and each will be assessed as per Fight Parkinson's Ethical Fundraising Policy. In the event of unauthorised use of your credit card, you must notify your card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures. All transactions are in Australian dollars and will appear on your credit card statement as Parkinson's Victoria.
5. Extreme weather
The safety of all 27forParkinson's participants is the highest priority of Fight Parkinson's and the event organisers. In cases of extreme weather during the campaign, I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation in 27forParkinsons and will take all measures to protect myself from the risks of extreme weather and will at all times take due and reasonable care of myself and others. Fight Parkinson's may make the decision to modify the event. Notice of any changes to the event will be posted at www.27forparkinsons.org.au and Fight Parkinson's website and social media pages as soon as possible prior to event commencement.
6. State and Local Government laws and regulations
I agree that by participating in 27forParkinson's, I will abide by all road and traffic laws, and all other laws and regulations in the State of Victoria or the Local Government Councils in which I undertake my walks.
7. Security of Registration Information and Passwords
When registering, I agree to keep my personal event login information safe, private and secure at all times. I will not allow any other person to use my login information or disclose my login information to any other person without permission.
8. Privacy Statement
Fight Parkinson's understands the importance of protecting the privacy of individuals and complies with the relevant legislation to ensure the confidentiality of any personal information collected. Fight Parkinson's will collect personal details at registration for the purposes of administering the event and informing you of future 27forParkinson's events and information about Fight Parkinson's. Personal details will not be disclosed by Fight Parkinson's to a third party except to third parties who are associated with the administration of 27forParkinson's and for marketing and promotional purposes.
9. Intellectual Property
The content, design, graphics and other materials related to 27forParkinson's are protected under applicable intellectual property laws. The copying, reproduction, use, modification or publication of full or part of the logo and marketing materials is strictly prohibited without the permission of Fight Parkinson's.
10. Fundraising.
You are required to make it clear in any dealings with the public and supporters that you are not an agent or representative of Fight Parkinson's but are acting on your own behalf in raising funds for Fight Parkinson's. You agree to not approach the general public with door-to-door, street for telephone collections as part of your fundraising. Fight Parkinson's is a Deductible Gift Recipient and accordingly all donations over $2 are tax deductible. All fundraising undertaken for this event comes under Fight Parkinsons authority to fundraise and you agree to be bound by the relevant Victorian and National fundraising legislation.
11. Social media and Use of Images.
By participating in 27forParkinsons and posting images to social media, I grant Fight Parkinson's and approved contractors, a non-exclusive, royalty free, without payment or compensation, perpetual licence to use my images for the purposes of advertisement and promotion of the event. This includes my name, image, voice, interview, appearance, statement or otherwise. Fight Parkinson's retains the right to request removal of any posts which it considers to be in inappropriate, unlawful or prohibited content.
