What do I have to do?

Aim to take up one of our challenges and complete it each day for 27 days throughout October. There are three exciting challenges you can take part in; Be Active, Be Connected and Make Change.

Do I have an account if I did the challenge last year?

You wont have an existing account and you will need to register again. We have upgraded our system since last year so please register again to do the 2021 challenge.

Can I still do my walking challenge for 27 days?

You sure can! The Be Active challenge is all about being active for 27 days in whatever way you choose, so walking is perfect!

When does the campaign run?

From 1st October - 27th October 2021 however you can start fundraising before and after! Every dollar makes a difference for people living in Parkinson’s.

How do I register?

Just click on the link here and select the challenge you want to complete, whether it’s Be Active, Be Connected or Make Change.

How do I get support to create or update my page?

We are here to help you every step of the way. Please just call our fundraising team on 03 8809 0400 or email us at fundraising@parkinsons-vic.org.au and we can support you.

Can I still do the challenge if we are in lockdown?

You sure can! As always, things are a little different in a lockdown and we all must keep aware of the regulations of such stay-at-home orders, but the challenge will help keep you busy and connected. We recommend you visit your state Government website to ensure you adhere to all Government regulations.

In the Be Active challenge, you can still get out every day for your walk! If you’re doing 27 workouts, you might need to do an outdoor class or switch to zoom or YouTube classes for the lockdown.

If you choose Be Connected, you can connect over zoom, phone, facetime or even a socially distant chat depending on the regulations where you are. You might need to change your plans a little to perhaps connect with your neighbours or friends in the local area instead. The important part is to connect with other people and remember we’re all here for each other.

How do I start fundraising?

Once you have created your page, share your unique fundraising link with your family and friends. Whether it’s on social media, an email, a phone call or in person! The most important thing is to ask!

You can share your linking by copying and pasting it or using the share buttons on your page.

How do I create or join a team?

You can create or join a pre-existing team when registering or any time during the event.

If you haven’t registered yet, you can register now.

If you have already registered, you can still create or join a team. Simply:

  1. Log into your account dashboard
  2. Click “Create or Join Team”
  3. Search for your team and click “Join Team” or create a new one

 

How do I update my fundraising page?

You can log into your page and manually change your photo, story or target. If you have any issues, we can also make the changes. Just send your updated information you want change as well as your details to fundraising@parkinsons-vic.org.au and we will get it done.

How do I share my fundraising page?

Once registered, everyone has their own unique fundraising link. This can be shared through any social media platforms such as Facebook or Twitter. It can also be sent via SMS or email so you can reach all your family and friends with what you are doing.

You can share your link by copying and pasting it or by using the share buttons on your page.

How do I join the 27forParkinson’s Facebook Group

Log into your Facebook account and click https://www.facebook.com/groups/27forparkinsons and ask to join the group. Here you can post pictures and stories about your amazing 27forParkinsons adventures.

Where does the money go?

All funds raised goes towards supporting those people with Parkinson’s. Through its multi-disciplinary approach, Parkinson’s Victoria provides information, education, advice and peer support services to improve the quality of life of the Parkinson’s community.

Can I use the Facebook donate button?

We encourage everyone to share their unique fundraising link on Facebook so people can click through to their page and donate. This way all funds donated will appear on your page.

If you use the Facebook donate button, unfortunaely we cannot link the donations to your page. Parkinson’s Victoria will still receive the funds, but they wont appear on your page or update your total.

Always share your link on social directly.
